Sea Day #2
Day 5, Sunday, January 7, 2024, Somewhere Between Falmouth, Jamaica and Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Honduras
The clock turned back an hour last night. Now we're on CST. Because our devices stay on airplane mode to enable us to use the wifi, our device clocks don't talk to the satellites. By the time the satellite clock on our cabin wall reached 8:00, when the MDR opened, we were starving. Hypothetically. We went and enjoyed Hearty Skillet breakfasts, ham and cheese skillet for Jas, vegetable scramble skillet for me. And what a lovely view we enjoyed from our table-for-two. 💖
After breakfast, I headed up to the Crow's Nest while Jas changed clothes for some pickleball court. I pulled out a new puzzle from the puzzle cubbies and got a couple hundred pieces out and sorted before having to own up to the fact that I was not enjoying this puzzle. I put it back in the box and tonight after dinner realized there were several puzzles already out and in various stages of construction in another section of the Crow's Nest. Oh, well. There's always tomorrow. By the way, these new puzzles that HAL bought for the renovated game space are from Piecework Puzzles, for all the fanatical puzzlers reading this post.
Photos: I wanted to show my board-game-loving sons all the games and puzzles that are available for when we're together here next year.
Knowing Jas was involved in a pickleball tournament, I went to watch the game on the pickleball court. It's a good thing I was determined, because that place is not easy to find! After trying three doors and several staircases, I made it up to sports heaven. I was able to snap a bunch of photos of him in action, enabling to see himself and critique his form. It was fun to watch him playing this game that he loves. By the way, that's the Caribbean Sea you see in the background.
After some lunch in the Lido Market, we reaxed in our cabin for a while, then I went to the Crow's Nest for a watercolor class in the Art Studio, and Jas went back to the pickleball court for some more action. Then we opted for a light supper of appetizers from the Neptune Lounge and drinks in the Crow's Nest. Then back to our cabin for some television and an early night.
I keep forgetting to photograph and mention all the beautiful live flowers that are positioned around the ship. This is on the table in the Neptune Lounge. Beautiful.
What a great vacation day!
